The Allman Betts Band continues the legacy of The Allman Brothers Band. The classic rock, blues, country, and jazz popularized by the pioneering rock band are revived, remastered, and modernized by the tribute band. Leading the band are Devon Allman and Duane Betts. Devon Allman is the son of Greg Allman, who was among the original members of The Allman Brothers Band. On the other hand, Duane Betts, the son of Dickey Betts, is known for his compositions and guitar rhythms for the Allman band.
The Allman Betts Band was formed in 1998 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The Allman Brothers Band. Aside from Devon and Duane, Berry Duane Oakley, Johnny Stachelar, John Ginty, R. Scott Bryan, and John Lum When the tribute shows became successful, they decided to push on with the band. At the beginning of their career, they were playing classic tunes from the legendary band, but to freshen up their discography, they decided to record their own songs. In 2019, they debuted the album "Down to the River." It was praised positively by many critics and was called "warm, lived-in richness rarely heard these days by contemporary bands." Living up to their predecessor, their follow-up was as true to the past band's style. "Bless Your Heart" hit it out of the park when it came out in 2020.
This year, The Allman Betts Band will be on tour for the Allman Betts Family Revival. This is a tribute concert to their legendary Southern rock fathers. They will be performing two sets allocated for the songs of their fathers.
On this tribute tour, the band will be joined by Sierra Hull and Anders Osborne. Sierra Hull is a bluegrass singer-songwriter and guitarist. Her music career began in 2008. Immediately, she became a bluegrass sensation with her albums "Secrets," "Daybreak," "Weighted Mind," and "25 Trips." She constantly tours and opens for many artists. On the other hand, Anders Osborne is an American blues and rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is a Mississippi treasure known for his songs like 'Life Don't Last Long," "Five Bullets," and "Fools Gold."
