We’re so excited to welcome Alessia back to the Orpheum Theatre for the first time in over 5 years for her Love & Hyperbole Tour, coming to town this Spring on Sunday, April 6th. Alessia Cara was born in Ontario to Italian-Canadian parents and fell in love with music at an early age. She is no stranger to the game - I mean, she’s been putting out her music and covers of her favorite songs on Youtube since she was thirteen, and signed to Def Jam for her 18th birthday - not a bad present for the Know-It-All superstar, who released her debut album under the same name a year later in 2015.
Her first record received massive critical acclaim and fan reception, Her first hit song Here peaked at #19 on the Canadian Hot 100, and more surprisingly - #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. She’s continued to rise since her debut, toting platinum hits with the producer Zedd, and collabs with contemporary rappers Khalid and Logic. She won Best New Artist at the Grammys in 2018, and became the first and only Canadian artist to win the award. She has been referred to as The Voice of America, yet has toured all across the globe - including in Canada, The U.K., Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Paris, and The United States - and of course, in our very own Orpheum Theatre. She has been written and blogged about over 100 times in her decade-long career, and with the release of her latest album, Love & Hyperbole, Cara has no plans on stepping back or releasing her grip on the music industry now that she’s returned after a three year hiatus.
This new album is about transformation and reshaping her inner self, the superstar has said. "I kind of went from stages of, like, feeling a lot of pain and sadness and melancholy to then starting to learn how to open myself up to different areas of love and nourishing parts of myself that I had maybe neglected in the past and finding myself in a place of joy,”.
“You can't really think too much when you're digging that deep into your feelings, I think you kind of have to just let it pour out of you, and I love that the song feels that way, at least to me,”.
And we’re ready for you, Alessia! Welcome to your new era, and Boston is so excited to welcome you on April the 6th.
Make sure to grab your tickets today - right here, right now!
